How to store a sex doll: get her bone dry, then store her the way she was built. A full-size doll with a hanging point at the neck goes on a rated hook or stand. A torso, a butt doll or anything without that point lies flat on something soft, limbs straight, out of the sun and away from dark fabric.

I call that the hang-point rule. The makers disagree on hanging versus flat, but they’re talking about different dolls.

Heads up, I make a few bucks if you buy through my links, but that doesn’t change what I tell you. I’ll still tell you which ones I would avoid.

How to store a sex doll: the hang-point rule

If the maker gave her a hanging point, hang her. If not, lay her flat.

The makers that sell hooks back hanging. SE Doll’s suspension hook kit listing calls hanging “by far the most effective and cost-effective method” of storing a doll, because it “prevents the doll’s body from being crushed and deformed”. Its stand setup guide says a neck-supported hanging stand suits “larger dolls or long-term storage, helping to minimize joint strain.”

Tantaly mainly makes torsos (chest to hips) and butt dolls (hips, ass and vagina). Its care and maintenance guide says to store the doll “with straight limbs and in a lying position.”

Both are right for what they sell. A torso usually has no neck point to hang from, in my experience.

The doll Store her Who says so
Full-size with a neck or back hanging point Hanging, from a hook or stand rated over her weight SE Doll
Full-size with standing feet Standing, on a stand or braced so she can’t tip SE Doll FAQ
Torso, butt doll, half-body Flat, limbs straight, on foam or a blanket Tantaly
Handheld stroker Fully dry, in a cloth bag, never a plastic one Tenga

SE Doll’s FAQ says standing feet are “more ideal for storage”, with flat shoes only, so she doesn’t fall. And Tenga says a plastic bag doesn’t breathe and “can allow moisture or bacteria to fester”.

Hanging a full-size: the hook carries all of her

The hook carries her full weight, and a full-size runs 71 to 106 lb (32 to 48 kg) going by current listings. That’s from my guide to how heavy each doll type gets. Get a rating well above her weight.

Not every full-size has a hanging point. My Robot Doll’s heavy-duty hanging stand says it fits “most full-size sex dolls with a standard suspension hook or hanging attachment point at the neck or back.” Most, not all, so check the listing or manual for that point first.

Two ready-made options I checked, as of October 2026:

  • SE Doll suspension hook kit, $58. Just the hook, with free standard shipping per the listing. It gives no load rating, so ask SE Doll for one before you hang a full-size off it.
  • My Robot Doll heavy-duty hanging stand, $420. Freestanding steel on lockable casters, with a listed maximum load of 100 kg (220 lb). No drilling, which matters if you rent. Shipping cost isn’t on the listing, so check it at checkout.

Into the wood, not the drywall

Screw a hook into a stud or a ceiling joist, never into drywall alone. That’s my advice as an electrician, not a maker spec. I’ve opened up enough walls to know a plastic anchor in drywall isn’t built for a full-size that swings when you lift her off.

  • Find the framing. Use a stud finder, then confirm with a small pilot hole. That’s how I check on the job.
  • Mind the wires. Don’t drill straight above or below a switch or an outlet. That’s where the cable usually runs.
  • Use a hook rated over her weight, driven into the centre of the wood, not the edge.
  • Test it before she goes on. Hang a duffel bag loaded past her weight off it for a day. If the hook moves at all, it’s coming out.

Getting her on and off the hook is a lift every time. The standard safe-lifting advice is to bend the knees, keep the load close and avoid twisting. Take her weight before you unclip her.

Laying her flat without dents

Flat means limbs straight, on something soft, with nothing tight on her. Tantaly’s guide spells it out in its silicone section:

  • Joints straight and “naturally relaxed”, on a soft mat or blanket, not a hard floor.
  • Big hips or butt? Lay her face down to take the pressure off.
  • Take off bras, straps and belts. Tantaly says “continuous pressure can create lasting indentations on the silicone surface.”
  • Don’t leave her sitting. Tantaly says a doll left seated for long periods gets pressure marks that “often last longer than expected.”

Two owner tips from an r/SexDolls thread on buying an Irontech, not maker advice:

  • Gel butt? One owner says it loses its roundness if she lies on her back for a long time. My read: lay her face down, the way Tantaly says for big hips, and the gel isn’t carrying her weight.
  • Wig off. Another says to take the wig off when she’s lying down for a while, or oil from the body clumps the hair.

Irontech’s version: the skin stays in good shape if you avoid “long-term pressure, direct sunlight, high temperature, and sharp objects”.

Tantaly’s storage steps for TPE, the soft rubbery plastic most budget dolls are made of, say to keep the doll away from “PVC or silicone type materials”. Yet its Britney listing ships the doll in a polystyrene box inside a black PVC bag. The guide and the listing don’t line up, and that kind of crap is on you to catch. My read: the doll stays in the foam box, and the bag goes around it. Own TPE and silicone dolls? Don’t stack them.

Where she lives: sun, damp, heat and dark clothes

Keep her somewhere cool and dry, out of the sun and away from dark fabric. Most of how to store a sex doll comes down to the spot you pick. Irontech’s care page says to store her “in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and dark-colored fabrics.”

All of it starts with the bone-dry rule from my wash and dry routine. Nothing goes into storage damp, inside or out.

How to hide a sex doll

To hide a sex doll, put her in a closed box, case or zipped bag in a closet or under the bed, with the cleaning gear in there too. Nobody finds a doll in a closed box. They find the powder and the irrigator, the squeeze bulb for flushing her out, on the bathroom counter.

I don’t hide mine out of shame. My buddies just don’t need to see her on a beer run. They’ve opened my fridge a hundred times looking for Corona. Nobody’s ever opened the closet, because there’s no beer in there.

Your situation Where she goes
Torso or butt doll Back in her foam box, closet shelf. The Britney listing gives a 22.2 x 17.5 x 11.4 in box
Full-size, closet space Hanging in the closet, behind long coats
Roommates A bag you can lock. Tantaly’s care guide says its carry bags have two double zips that take small locks

Under the bed, measure first. RealSexDoll’s Linda listing gives a carton of 148 x 38 x 28 cm (58 x 15 x 11 in) for a 5’3” doll. SE Doll sells a storage flight case for $958 with free standard shipping (as of October 2026) and suggests sliding it under the bed. That’s a hell of a lot of money for a box, so I’d keep the carton.

Delivery can stay quiet too. SE Doll’s FAQ says it ships in a plain carton “without any text or mark”, and Tantaly’s listing promises “no branding information”. My discreet shipping guide covers the rest.

What owners say about hiding it from your parents

One owner who lived at home into his 20s says your room gives you away before the box does. That’s from an r/SexToys thread where a 26-year-old living with his parents asked where to hide a stroker. Same instinct, different size: a toolbox won’t hold a doll, so read these as ideas for the stroker shelf and the cleaning gear.

The top answer, from u/Authentic-469: “give your parents no reason to go in your room. Keep it clean, bed made and do your own laundry.” That works until it doesn’t. Other people in the thread describe parents who walk in anyway.

After that, the thread splits three ways, and the advice conflicts:

My read: a plain carton on the closet shelf for parents, because it looks like storage. A padlocked bag for a roommate who’d open a box anyway. Skip the safe. u/logiconem says a friend got robbed, and “all theft took is a small safe box full of rubber cocks”. A safe tells a thief where the good stuff is.

Two posts don’t fit dolls. u/MellowSerpent keeps everything in a backpack in the car trunk, which is the heat problem I covered above. And u/RedLightLupie asks how to clean when you’re never home alone. I saw no replies. My answer: wash her when you’ve got the bathroom to yourself, then let her finish drying in your own room, where nobody else goes.

Small apartment sex doll storage

In a bachelor or a one-bedroom, a torso is the only doll that stores without a plan. Britney is 27.3 lb (12.4 kg) in a 22-inch box on a shelf. A full-size needs a hook in the framing, room for a 58-inch carton, or a $420 stand. None of those? Start with a lighter torso doll. Covers, stands and bags are on my accessories page.

The mistake most guys make

They hang a full-size off whatever’s already there. A closet rod, an over-the-door hook, an old plastic anchor. It holds for a week, then the anchor pulls out and she lands on her face. That’s a shitty way to learn what drywall is rated for.

The second is leaving her in a chair for a month because figuring out how to store a sex doll felt like a project. Seated storage leaves marks. Lay her down.

FAQs

Can I store my sex doll in the box?

Yes. Tantaly’s care guide recommends its own polystyrene box and carry bag for storage, for privacy and to keep dust off. For a torso, the original box is the best home she’ll get. A full-size carton works too, if you’ve got the floor. Store her bone dry, limbs straight, nothing tight on her.

Can you store a sex doll laying down sideways?

For a night, sure. For weeks, I wouldn’t. On her side, her weight sits on one hip and one shoulder, the long-term pressure Irontech and Tantaly both warn about. Tantaly says lying down with straight limbs, and face down for big hips. Neither maker mentions sideways, so that’s my read.

Can you store a TPE sex doll in your bed?

Short term, if she’s bone dry and the sheets are light-coloured. Irontech says to keep her away from dark fabrics, because dye transfers. I wouldn’t make the bed her permanent spot. My worry is a duvet trapping warmth and damp, and you’d be moving her every night anyway. A foam pad in a closet is better.

How do you hide a sex doll under the bed?

Flat, in the carton or a hard case, never loose. Measure first. The 58 x 15 x 11 in carton above needs at least 11 inches of clearance and nearly 5 feet of length. Check under there now and then for damp.

One last thing: find the stud before you buy the hook. Drywall is for picture frames.
