About Craig: Who Writes SexDoll.cloud and How He Checks Every Doll

Every page on SexDoll.cloud is written by me, Craig Mercer: a Hamilton electrician with a spare bedroom full of sex dolls.
The short version of me
I’m 34, I’m a licensed electrician, and I went with dolls because dating ate all my time. I did my apprenticeship straight out of high school and I’ve been pulling wire for 15 years, mostly commercial. I live in a two-bedroom on the east Mountain.
I’m single by choice, and not bitter about it. Getting a date was never the problem. The time was: the apps, the texting, the three dinners, and sometimes nothing at the end of it.
My last real relationship ended at 31, on good terms, and I didn’t want another one soon. I still like women. I was just done spending every weekend working for it.
At 32, a buddy sent me a sex doll link as a joke. I spent two weeks in the rabbit hole, reading every spec sheet and forum thread I could find. I bought a torso first, in TPE, a soft rubbery plastic that costs less than silicone. Cheaper, and I wasn’t sure. A few months later I bought my first full-size.
My mom thinks the spare room is a home gym.
Why I started the site
Guys kept asking me, and every one of them was about to buy the wrong doll. My buddy Dev asked first, then his cousin, then a guy from a job site. Each one was about to blow $1,500 on a doll because the listing looked hot.
So I started writing it down, straight: which type fits your budget and your apartment, and the stuff nobody tells first-time buyers. Like how heavy 80 pounds (36 kg) feels on the way to the shower, why cheap TPE gets sticky (its oil isn’t chemically bonded, so it seeps out), and why the listing photos are always crap.
How I review dolls
For a named doll, I check the maker’s spec sheet, the seller listing and verified buyer reviews.
- Specs come from the maker. Height, weight, material, skeleton (the metal frame inside). If I can’t back a number, it doesn’t go on the page.
- The listing tells me the real price. Shipping included, and where it ships from.
- Buyer reviews get quoted word for word, with a name and a link. I never edit them.
- Every review lands on worth it or skip it.
My own dolls taught me what to look for. Unless I say plainly that I’ve had the doll you’re reading about in my hands, I haven’t, and I won’t pretend otherwise. Verdicts live in the reviews hub.
How I get paid
Heads up, I make a few bucks if you buy through my links. Doesn’t change what I tell you, and I’ll tell you to skip stuff all day. Details in my affiliate disclosure.
Who’s actually selling you the doll
Every seller I recommend comes with a store facts line. It says whether the store is the maker or a reseller, online only or a physical shop, where it’s based, where it ships from, where it ships to, and what a Canadian buyer should expect at the border.
Written in Canada, for both sides of the border
I’m a Canadian writing for anyone looking to buy a love doll. Prices are in USD. CAD shows up only when a seller lists it, and I never convert it myself and pass it off as a listed price.
As of October 2026, US imports under $800 no longer come in duty-free. In Canada, a courier shipment from the US or Mexico can skip duty up to C$150 and tax up to C$40. More in my US tariff guide and my Canadian customs guide.
Adults only, no exceptions
Adult dolls only, and that line doesn’t move.
Petite dolls are fine. A grown woman who’s 4’11” is a grown woman. But there’s a whole corner of this market selling mini dolls made to look like they’re under age, and that’s not cool, at all. It normalizes treating kids as sexual, and I’m not going anywhere near it. You won’t find one on this site, and I’ll never send you to that corner of a store.
It’s a crime in Canada, too. Here, a doll that looks like a child is treated as child sexual abuse material. In 2024 the RCMP laid child pornography charges against a Nova Scotia man after one was seized at the border.
I don’t review, link or target any doll with a youth label, even when the store claims 18+. Borderline means I skip it. And no lookalikes of real people unless the person officially licensed it.
Got a question? Send it my way. I answer this stuff at every barbecue, so I can handle yours.
Cheers, Craig
